I was leveling battle in EA. The waters had been safe for a few days; I kept plenty of money on me, so I didn't have to make the long trek to the bank at Tamsui.
I was doing well for being lvl 24, then 25 and before I knew it, I was lvl 29- the level I needed to do the final improvement on my ship! I was getting 500 - 800 xp per fleet, so I stayed, but the safe waters didn't. Still it was nice seeing lvl 30, 31..
I just came out of a battle and saw a pirate circling me like a vulture!! My heart started pounding when I realized I had 6 million on me- and none in the bank. I headed to port, but was able to engage a fleet before the pirate engaged me! The battle ring was enough to get me to port safely!
Heart still racing, I ran the distance to the bank- my money was safe! With just enough to buy water, and no pirate in sight, I decided to do some more leveling. After the first fleet is sunk, the pirate shows up- and says in local- let's fleet- I want to sink some ships. Mhmm - I'm sure you do... (I thought) and I engage another fleet. What do I do , what do I do- Electrie (the sensible one) usually makes those decisions! Again- hey really let's fleet and sink some ships! Ok sure, why not!
For the next 30 minutes, this Pirate leads me around and we sink ships. Yippee, now I am getting 68 xp and working twice as hard while listening to how I need more defense, I need a better sword, my ship needs more dura.... then he brings me to a group of strangers at port --ahh what a nice pirate - they use lcct and repair my ship. hmmm maybe he isn't so bad after all - and off we go.
wrong- he was.. he unfleets and attacks me! I apologized for having no cargo and just 50k- he apologizes for killing all my sailors. I board the first company liner back to Europe.
Later that night, Ahhhh, a liner to Calicut--what could go wrong there...

I (Abbye) was in EA when I learned the Arsenal construction was not completed. Selectrie volunteered to make the trip out to the colony to check on the reason for the halted construction of the Arsenal that was being rebuilt. He was nearing Madeira after leaving Seville when a company member said they had just made a Seville - Amsterdam trip in 7 days! Selectric looked at the day counter - 7 days - it was going to be a long journey!
26 days and Azores is off to the right! Selectrie knew the voyage would be strenuous, but he was determined! Time to use that 30% speed boost he had in his pocket! It could have been a relaxing trip, but the crew was never happy! One Mutiny after another Did they not like the shrimp and seaweed he was feeding them!? The loss of sailors was becoming somewhat of a concern!
The ship started leaking! A leak here and then there! It was a full time job collecting logs and converting them to timber to make repairs! Selectrie finally remembered he had a few Master craftsman's carpentry tools! +100 repair and no timber needed! Luckily, the ship hadn't sunk, for now... It was unsafe waters the entire trip, but Selectrie didn't have to worry about pirates as his level is only 20/20/8 - that was a relief!
It's been 72 days and North America is visible on the compass! No vigour and just a few sailors left- is it any wonder they are anxious?? They can eat and drink and be merry! The colony is just days away! The one hour speed boost has expired!
Eighty days after leaving Seville and the journey is complete! It was fun! The Arsenal crew is back on the job and Selectrie is resting up! I wonder if he'll be so quick to volunteer when Sabbye needs help in New France with the LH_India colony...

Great Experience battling in East Asia - Using a 30% experience boost even without it would be about 1200! Unfortunately, I battled about 3 hours in a chef's job - I figured I lost about 12k experience - one whole level! Too bad tomorrow EA will be unsafe waters again!

Choosing character names I love words and I have spent hours at a time creating names for the various games that I have played. The name had to be unique, possibly thought provoking, and perhaps clever. Beyond that, they had to have some kind of personal meaning to me.
Psycho Anna Lies - Was Anna a psycho that lies or did Anna over think situations?
Coal Escent - As a guild leader her job was to bring members together for a single purpose.
Phala Sea - an incorrect or misleading notion or opinion based on inaccurate facts or invalid reasoning; the tendency to mislead. It was a pirate game and pirates aren't known for honesty.
SoaLohne - pretty much how I felt in game and in life
NevraLohne - she was never alone in game; how I wished things were in life
PsychLohne - I was earning my Masters in I/O Psychology and my life had just been turned upside down, it seemed fitting
Splishen and Splashen - the characters were ducks!
Koala Fied - was my very qualified Beta tester Bear
Barefooted- another test bear - I am barefooted often.
Dee Bauchery - she was a bit flirty
Esign Sarah T - despite her name, she was sweet and honest
Sin Seer - she had a sixth sense about dishonesty
Lately though, when I play a game, I name my characters Abbye. I have always liked the name Abigail and this definition on urban dictionary seemed to be who I am (in my mind):
"The girl who is always searching for herself. The girl who feels beautiful when spreading joy to others, but has difficulty doing so. The girl who may often fear losing her sanity, because she so often comes close to it, but you never know it because she settles quietly to the side of the room. The girl who tends to keep to herself, but if you give her reason to trust her and time to open up, and you treat with respect, then you're in for an amazing experience with a beautiful person. The girl that intimidates you, in some way or another, because of her silent power, so everyone leaves her to be alone. She is highly intuitive and creative, with a vast imagination. She is strong, intelligent, and knows what is beautiful in life."
The reason for the unique spelling of Abbye is because I didn't want to be Abi123 or Abbie123, Abbey123. or Abby123 - all the typical shortened versions were taken - so I added an 'e' to the end and have been successful naming my characters to this point. Who wants to be typical anyway.

Just finishing up unlocking Giza Dungeon - I think there is a 5k/10k adventure fame requirement for quests.
Giza 1 - 3 - Survey of the pyramids of Giza - Tunis, Genoa, Marseille, Istanbul - Rec 1, Theo 2, Arabic
I got it from Tunis with no trouble. You have to have Theology to talk to the scholar in Alexandria and to make the discovery. Right before the dungeon entrance there is a lvl 23 enemy that hangs out there. You will see a break in the wall on the left about where that enemy roams. You stand past the break where the wall begins again (closest to the dungeon entrance) and use recognition or a telescope to make the discovery to complete the quest. We immediately went into the dungeon and made a few rounds and made the discovery (Thoth Statue) we needed for the next quest. You will find mostly ores and glass and a few gemstones. When we finished we turned in our quest in Alexandria to the barmaid. We then decided to go to Istanbul (don't forget 50-60 disguise) to get the next quest (we could have went straight to Istanbul and turned the quest in there!)
Giza 4 - 8 - "Study of pyramids Construction" - 8 Star from Istanbul - Arabic (Need Thoth Statue Discovery from floors 1-3)
This was really easy to pull from the mediator and to complete. You talk to the scholar in Istanbul 5 or 6 times and the quest completes. We turned it back in to the same mediator. Before getting the 3rd quest - you have to run floors 4 - 8 of the dungeon and make the discovery (Cartouche) at the end of floor 8. . We used an ESBT that we got from completing floors 1-3. It only takes one ESBT from Istanbul to go to Giza. We completed the floors and landed back in Istanbul dock. (Selling what we got from 1 trip through floors 4-8 - even with a crashed market was 835,000)
Giza 9 - 15 - "Mystery of the Ruins" - 9 star from Istanbul - Arabic (Need Cartouche Discovery from floors 4-8)
This just took a couple of QMP - I wasted at least 10 not realizing we had to have the discovery from floors 4-8 not just the completed quest. This quest you go talk to the scholar a few times and he sends you to the shore opposite Cairo to find someone. When you first get to the landing - follow the wall to the right and you will find the Oasis - click on the Oasis. Run to where the pointed rock is going to the second layer where the dungeon is- click on the rock - Once you get that quest information- go through to the other side. Go to the Northwest Oasis (its in a little dead end spot North of the ruins) click on it. Go to the dungeon and click on the coffin 2 times- quest complete. When you do floors 9 - 15 you want to be sure you keep Book of Ennead if you get it. You will need that when you do the Luxor Dungeon quests- until next time... - Abbye </font>

I'm really excited about lohneheart.com I put a lot of time and effort into not only building the page, but adding content that will be helpful to company members and players in general. I wanted to have a page other than our facebook page because not everyone uses Facebook, including me. I was able to purchase the lohneheart.com domain name, so I started a blog site that would be used to relay company information and to locate resources to make game play more enjoyable. When someone suggested a shout box - boom - done! Another suggestion led to adding the forums - which led to figuring out a way to integrate our original blog site with the forum - boom - done! It's difficult to get people to a new website, but word of mouth and some networking should prove successful! One of the most common questions I hear in the game, "does anyone know what the server time is?" It's also one of the things I'm always having to calculate during game play for myself, so I thought it would be cool to have a clock with the server time on the main page. This way when someone asks the question, I can say, it's 2:56 pm but next time you can find the server time on lohneheart.com. The game is global and server time uses pacific time zone. Time for liners and events is often relayed in 24 hour time, so it was important to find the time was able to be displayed in 12 and 24 hr time. Finding a clock that worked always on pacific time that didn't adjust to the visitors time took awhile, too. I finally landed on the time and date page, and the end result is perfect! I decided to make a tool to report discoveries. You can turn the discoveries you find in-game to any non-player character (npc) in the game that allows discovery reporting (including at the intellectual at our Colony), but you get the most reward when you turn it in to the right npc. The npc are literally spread out around the globe and there are over a dozen categories of discoveries. Remembering which npc takes which discovery is a challenge, but no longer necessary with the tool. There was one available on olous.com, but it didn't contain complete information. The page that did have the complete information, wikia, was just a page that had everything listed and you had to hunt for your needed information. I thought, I can figure out how to make that drop down and make one that has all the information! It took scouring the internet to learn the css code and html that I needed because back in the day, it was all html. There are probably easier ways - but when you are self taught, completing a project may not be done in the fastest, most efficient way, but the job gets done. You can find the discovery tool I made at lohneheart.com
After learning all the coding to make the discovery tool, I thought it would be helpful to have a similar tool to find out information about Aides. Aides are npc that you can hire. They essentially become part of your character that support your skills and each Aide has skills of their own. There are pages to search for Aide information on ivyro or wikia, but there are so many Aides and skills, it becomes overwhelming looking at which is best for your character. I decided that drop down menus to pick your skills you want your Aide to support and skills you want your aide to have could be a great way to make the process of hiring an Aide easier. There are also menus to compare Aides. Other than hiring an Aide, when you have hired more than two Aides, you forget what skills your others Aides have, so this tool will help you find your Aide's information out quickly and easily. You can find the Aide search tool I created on lohneheart.com (soon) That is how the lohneheart.com website came into existence February 2016 and will become part of the LohneHeart history. For now, I must get back to coding the Aide search tool - barring any delays, it should be finished today! -AbbyeReposted from my personal site: nerdsdontsmile.com

Decided to participate in some of the Alias Events! ...Trivia...
not sure how these are riddles - nothing funny nor perplexing - it comes down to who can google the fastest.
Then, Sabbye found Alias in Pisa -- 4th in line Then, Selectrie found Alias in Lisbon tavern!! At last!!
But, even though it clearly shows I waved at her (as per the directions) before the 3 winners
and I was physically the 3rd one in the tavern... not a winner. After an hour of sending tells that are not acknowledge to GM Coolwind - Alias sends me a tell back
When you do right and play by the rules and are considerate, responsible, helpful - in real life or in game - and you still get overlooked and ignored - it messes with the mind.
- it may not be a big deal to him
- but I can't help but feel dejected.

It was fun sailing around SEA and EA while the waters were safe!
I decided to take a trip to Jolo - otherwise known as pirate island! It was nice not having to worry about any player pirates lurking in the area!If you decide to stop in yourself to any of the pirate islands - expect to pay to enter! NPC have special pirate-y namesBut, they are very friendly!Pretty nice that they have some equipment readily available! Not so much at the Market...I think I've heard pirates likes these...Until next time

Just finished battle record from Seville - Strait of Gibraltar Sunk mostly Barcas and some Islamic merchant fleets near Ceuta and malaga - the formidable enemies in this area weren't difficult at all and we were able to reach rank 5 for the quest. Electrie got nearly 54k experience when turning in quest and 13.6k battle fame. She went from level 24 to 28. Electrie got an additional 2 battle fame when Abbye turned in quest. Abbye got about 29k experience when turning in quest and 13.6k battle fame. She went from level 38 to 2/3 of the way for level 39. Abbye also got an additional 5451 battle fame. Keepslig was nearby so we fleeted him and he gained about 2500 battle fame when Electrie and Abbye turned the quest in and didn't have to do a thing but stand there! The other reward was almost 6 Million!! The downside of just doing barcas is you dont get the skill prof or xp or much fame during the battles - next time I will find an area that has higher level ships - like super barcas! Another note -- you have to only sink 1 ship to complete quest-- It is up to you if you want to sink all 200 for the most xp, fame and reward! Definitely worth doing the Battle reports found at Maritime mediators all over the world!

I've been out and about working on Astronomy! It is pretty fun finding discoveries like a Sun Spot or Mars. The pre-quests and quests to get Astronomy aren't too difficult, but in order to get the Astronomy job (and Astronomy skill), you have to be level 52 Adventure - you can always complete all the quests now, and save the job card for use when you reach adventure 52!
Chain 1 Santo Domingo Adv med - At the end of the Caribbean - Discovery - The Yucatan Peninsula (geography)
London, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Seville Adv med - A culture without water Rec 5 Arch 7 Mayan - Discovery - Chichen Itza (historic site)
Chain 2: Jakarta adv med- History through Charred remains - Theo 9 Rec 7 Korean - Discovery Bulguksa Temple (Religious architecture)
Jakarta adv med- Gaya records - Search 1 Arch 3 Unlock - discovery Ancient Iron (Historical relic)
Hangzhou Adv mediator - Built cave - rec 11 theo 13 Korean - Discovery Seokguram (Religious architecture)
Calicut Adv guild - History of the Three Kingdoms of Korea - search 3 arch 5 Korean - Discovery Samguk Sagi (historical legacy)
Jakarta adv med - History of Mysterious Tower- search 3 arch 5 Korean - Discovery Cheomseongdae (hIstorical relic)
Astronomy Quest: St. Petersburg Adv med - Introduction to Astronomy. job quest - once completed and in Astronomy job- you can acquire Astronomy
Once in the job and acquiring the skill - I headed out to see to make discoveries by looking at the sky at night! I have found a few discoveries this way, but mostly they come from searching the archives for maps while reading or finding quests with the adventure mediator! It really has been fun, but the quests and maps aren't easily found!
For now, and usually.. you can find me looking towards the sky..
