Hello fellow Lohnehearts. It was suggested I should keep a log. At first I thought they were talking about how I sleep. for those who don't know me well, I am the proverbial hyperactive kid( in 50's) I spend so much time and energy starting one thing after another that it seems like I never make progress. then I stop for a minute and Wow! I actually did gain a little here and there My favorite parts are not when I manage to level up, rather they are when I find a way to help another company member. I will probably try to become a first mate someday, because ..... well ..... I guess that's just who I am. for now I am focused on the company and my many friends who are part and parcel to it. if you need anything let me know ..... especially if its ships .... ohhhh boy do I have ships....

I saw a shout about a ship the other day that got me curious. The SBer was bragging the ship up as a great mod. I checked it out. Everything I have learned about ship building was exactly the opposite of how this was built. I asked the shipbuilder how they could call this ship a great Mod, It needed to be completely reset and started over. I wasn't really trying to be a jerk and insult them, But they did nearly everything wrong. Why take a slow tank and build it for melee? why build any kind of Battleship with almost no attempt to improve the armor value? I was at a total loss.
To my amazement the SBer did not attack me for my rudeness, rather she explained her thinking in building it this way.
I didn't buy it for a minute. But I study everything by my very nature. I wondered it there was anything to her unorthodox ideas. DAMMIT I was hooked. I just have to know why so many Sbers underrate the need to improve armor. I decided I had to find out. I BOUGHT THE SHIP! what the **** at worst I have to reset it and start over.
The ship is a modified Ingermanland. this is close enough statistically to my modified Applet that I plan to design tests for my theories on SBing and use these to ships to qualify and quantify the strengths and weaknesses of these very different approaches. I will chronical my findings here in this log.
First things first..... I need to level up my maritime a couple levels to use the new ship. Also I need to improve my skills to effectively use all of the ship skills for any evaluation to be fair and complete. More to come........

Does any one else think it is strange that nothing seems to happen till you look back and realize, hmmm things are different than I said just a few days ago? Anyway! I started to work on Maritime leveling.... needed to go back to Seville. and again.... so I made a decision. With all the skills needed for each class, It is just too much to try and do everything with 1 char. So, Mav will focus on SBing, and making FS parts. And I am now working on ranking up Wipeout as a Maritimer and caster. But I don't really like the name. So Time for a name change. But to what? Lightbulb! (that's gru for I have an idea) I will give a free fully moded ship to the team member who suggests the best name for my maritimer. What ship? That depends on the levels of the winner. I'm sure a MF would not seem like much of a prize to someone with 70/70/80 levels. But I will try to keep it in the area of 4B+ in value.

I was informed that I need to have rules...... rule 1 .....ok entries must be sent by in game mail or posted here by 7/15/2016 rule 2 ....We don't need no more stinkin rules the winner can choose from (MIS G3 8/8)(MIS G2 7/7)(HC G1 5/5) (CTLC ticket or fresh) (MAV G1 6/6)(CCC G0 1/6)(FBG G1 7/7) Should the winner not be interested in any of my ships ( I don't blame them) ill substitute 1B in game ducats.

I absolutely amaze myself how every time I decide to settle down and work steadily toward a goal, all **** beaks loose. I got an unexpected bonus from work and decided to treat myself to some SSIP. There were 3 players shouting WTB SSIP. Sooooo being the wheeler dealer I am, I decided to sell some. first player thought he could lowball at 18m /each .... lol no way I can 200 SSIP a day at 20m. second player didn't have enough cash so offered a MRF ticket as payment, I shook my head thinking Rass will Razz me forever if I do, so of course I did. that did it I suddenly had enough cash for some of the ships being Shouted out. I soon bought and sold 8 ships at 1 time trying to negotiate with 3 at a time.... lol I don't want to think how confused those players are after all the times I typed to wrong chat. in the end I did not sell a single ship I had before. started with 200 SSIP (4B worth) and 3B in ducats... ended up with 1 new ship (MLC) and 3 new tickets (MRF, mod endeavor, and FLC) total value =10B not bad for a morning. I am really excited about the endeavor, but especially the FLC which has the potential to be the first ship to break the sound barrier while on water. sails as ticket are 246/330 with G3 speedup1 and speed up 2 and +117/+117 and 5studding sails .......... wow maybe even warp speed.

Well I have been looking into the ship stats and how they affect performance. I have learned many things about enhancing ship speed and how turning and Wave resist impact that, as well as how the invisible skills work. like BPA, it doesn't change the ship stats in any way, yet has the same effect as +10armour. Now I have a pretty good handle on what to go for when building a ship and how to do it.so what are my ambitions? I honestly wish I knew. Mav is and always will be a Shipbuilder first and foremost. but so far ahead in maritime that it is hard to ignore that. same for adventure. Yet when I do those things I lose shipbuilding.so Mav is going to sacrifice maritime and adventure for shipbuilding and crafting. also will not use an aide ship because of needing the space for fusion.

So here is the plan..... 1) write a shipbuilding guide... I have a site I was going to use for ships, now will host the guide... 2)get to R20 SB... 3)focus on perfecting SB skills... esp fusion... 4) become 7 nation SB... 5)level up crafting till making all my own FS parts... 6)Specialize in building FS versions of the best ships in the game. Dz NL FS TS etc... 7)continue to build Astro ships as they become available and the demand is there... 8)be the best SBer on UWO and teach others who are interested in learning. Meanwhile, Vincetory will become my primary adventure and maritime Alt. I Lose a lot of hard earned levels, and skills, but they will be back. See you all at Sea

Wow! lots to say . first of all... I hi the sailor's bottle jackpot. Scored an ILFS!!! Sold it to Juan. We had a lot of trouble reaching an acceptable price. I refused to take too much from a company mate and friend, he refused to let me lowball it. Finally we agreed to a price, and he seems thrilled to have it. Good sailing Juan. While doing Battle reports to try to tune up for ESF this week I ran into some pirates. 1 at a time. Was sailing My awesome new CSOS and being a bit cocky, I commented in world chat that the NPC pirates in Cape were not much challenge. A pirate came on and said "all pirates to Capetown on the double. Being tired as well as cocky I said "come on and join the party I'm the one in the Blue CSOS." Well he actually showed up, although no others did. We fought for a while .... then the urge to brag overtook him. he told me he has a CSOS also, and would I like to see it. I said I would. so we broke off the battle and went to tavern in capetown. His CSOS was G6 modded to near perfection. My expressions of awe were genuine, this ship was indeed a treasure. That was all it took. I now have an Ultimate goal! I have determined that I am going to build a G6 flagship if it takes me 3 years to do it. I started planning....... If they offer ships for sale this Christmas for astros would they offer the Ambush Victory? if I started to save now would I be able to buy it? what other ship would do if not that? OHHHHhhh why do I torture myself like this? I just finished both a ADZ and CSOS both G3 ships... but they were planned as G3 and to expand them would make them unbalanced. and they were truly good mods. the best I have ever done. But.... wait ...... YES! that would be perfect. the Festive Applet! When I bought it, I intended to reset, so got a good price. How good would it be? could it compete with the G6 ADZ and G6 CSOS which I have recently fought and been so impressed with.Went on Bluebird and strted planning it out.... 5 hours later I had what I think is the perfect G6 build for a festive Applet. Here are the specs: - Durability =1429(max)
- Vertical = 244(max)
- Horizontal = 374(max)
- turn = 22
- WR = 10
- Armor = 66(max)
- Cabin = 241(max)
- cannon = 144
- cargo = 337 based on R20 SB -20% mod
- G1 skill = inherit either repair support, or Welcome melee battle
- G3 skill = Cabin capacity imp
- G6 skill = Armour improvement
- original skill = either BPA, or Medical support(this is an ESF build)
- skill1 = Improved gun port
- skill 2 = Attack Prevention Net

I decided instantly that to commit to a G6 mod meant holding nothing back. Astro parts would be used everywhere it would help. and all mat ships would be built rather than bought except that I would use astro mat ships if they were available. i figured I could spend 1B for g3 mat, 2B for G4 mat, 4 B for G5, and 8B for G6..... like I said gonna take time and be expensive, but I learned that astro mat ships are worth the cost when going for high grades.
I was surprised to find out that use of Delphin sails would make the build harder rather than easier, and every combination I tried left things unbalanced. so I planned it with 3 large latin and 3 large square sails... nothing fancy. Even though I decided not to hesitate to use astro parts, the only ones in the final version are 2 @ augmented sailor's cabin, and 1 @ assault cabin.
By the way I have 2 ANL tickets if anyone is interested in them.

last night was the first day of the September ESF. The Spanish side had 0 ports in the area, the Dutch had 6. That meant we started 120 points behind the second it started(like I said in the guide, even traders and adventurers contribute, here they gave the Dutch a formidable head-start). By the end we were almost even, which meant we very drastically outfought them in sea battles. There was a great deal of confusion of where the Spanish should set up base. [CA]Battsuei added to it by misdirecting players who were asking in chat , that includes me.
I love this game, but 1 thing that I consider to be Despicable is that they allow a pirate from Otto to be a [CA] and represent management in the game. He steers players wrong if they are opponents and in all things favors pirating. -- enough politics --
We made Oslo our base. I arrived and was immediately asked to form fleet and be admiral. (interesting) I did so and had quite a good fleet. there were 4 of us who are regulars and often Admirals so we actually took turns as Admiral. Surprisingly that worked. The opponents were not sure who to go after. It was funny that I ended up being the top Melee fighter in the fleet and often held the advantage in melee. near the end the strategy became that I went into melee with opponent admiral and others spammed surgery. and fired upon his ship. they did the same. I defeated 4 admirals this way.
then the most fun I ever had in UWO ------------
2 fleets from each side in a huge flying circus style slugfest decided to enter deck battle. WoooHoooo !!!!! This was my first Deck battle ever.
I an now really glad I spent days this month doing dungeons solo. I also decided before the ESF to re equip.... 1oo def courias ....100 def boots, etc .... so I was one blue globes lololololol.
10 to 10 deck battle. at the end we had nine standing they had none. I personally took out 3. my new Bottle sword helped a bit too. BTW is anyone is interested I have 2 more, which I can spare.
It was great fun! My final tally was 45 victories, including 10 admirals. I was sunk probably 12 or 15 times, (like I said in the guide, it doesn't track your losses, only wins) I no longer go to the rally point asking who needs 1 more, I now go there expecting to start a fleet, as it seems others are starting to assume that I am a leader and admiral. Lol, (I actually had a player ask if he could join my fleet before I knew I was going to lead one)I guess this is how the other leaders got there too, no elections, just players get used to seeing certain players lead, and defer to them. I think it is Funny that MWest took charge and started to direct players to me till I had a full fleet, because we had never fought on the same side before, were always opponents. He is always one of the top scorers. I guess the fact that he assumed I was an admiral means I fought well enough against him before to be remembered. It is kind of cool to realize that a practical Noob like me can, actually earn respect from higher players. (most of the leaders are 80/80/80 or somewhat close)
Unfortunately I have to miss today's action. But, I will be here for tomorrows.
